Madrid, 4 July 2022.

The Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (CEPYME), the Spanish Confederation of Associations of Young Entrepreneurs (CEAJE), the Association of Self-Employed Workers (ATA) and the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES) have renewed their commitment to the Third Sector Platform (PTS) by supporting the Casilla Empresa Solidaria in Corporation Tax campaign. By marking this option, companies can allocate 0.7% of the proceeds to finance projects of social interest managed by the Third Sector. This collaboration has been renewed with the aim of joining forces and publicizing the measure after starting, on July 1, the deadline for filing Corporation Tax, which will be open until July 25.

The agreement between the main business organizations in Spain and the Third Sector Platform highlights the interrelationship between the Third Sector and the business fabric. A sample of how these agents share purpose and objectives, with social value as the main lever of change and the common challenge of promoting sustainable investment to build a better world and jointly undertake the SDGs identified in the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

186 million euros is the estimated figure of total collection that could be reached in this year through the Solidarity Company Box, according to the data advanced by the Ministry of Finance for this year, if all the companies that present this tax marked it.

"Having one more year with the impulse and support of the main business organizations of our country in the campaign of the Solidarity Company Box is the most relevant support for the Third Sector and the perfect testimony of the existing commitment in this area. Spanish companies have in their hands the possibility of generating a great positive impact with a very simple gesture and at no cost, thus adding to the necessary social transformation, "says Luciano Poyato, president of the Third Sector Platform (PTS), promoter of this measure.

For her part, the president of the CEOE Foundation, Fátima Báñez, has valued "the enormous commitment of Spanish companies, which places them at the forefront of social action and that will surely be shown again with this Corporate Tax campaign, in which I encourage you to check the Solidarity Company Box,  that costs nothing and is worth a lot. It is the box of hope and optimism, necessary to promote projects and grow in actions of solidarity and inclusion from civil society". Fátima Báñez recalled the importance of "continuing to add alliances from the company to multiply results".

For the Secretary General of CEPYME, Luis Aribayos, "the commitment of companies to social development and solidarity is a reality and a responsibility that SMEs assume in the daily exercise of their work, generating wealth and employment. From this social commitment, through this action, CEPYME joins its efforts to, together, continue to advance and lay the foundations for a future of economic and social progress".

The president of CEPES, Juan Antonio Pedreño, has pointed out that "most Social Economy companies have been supporting the Corporate Income Tax Solidarity Company Box for four years. In its DNA is the concern for the social, solidarity and for correcting social and territorial imbalances. The current socio-economic complexity makes this support for the Third Sector of Social Action essential more than ever".

On the other hand, the president of CEAJE, Fermín Albaladejo, highlights that "at a time when more and more stones are added to the backpack, not only of our entrepreneurs but of all of us who make up this society, it is time to give support and contribute our grain of sand. It is unthinkable not to support acts of solidarity like this, even more so when we know that there are so many Spaniards who are having a hard time."

For his part, the president of ATA, Lorenzo Amor, has assured that "we have spent two very complicated years. And not everything is resolved, complicated months are coming in which the recovery will depend on many external aspects. What we can do from home, we must do, and among those things is to support social entities, with solidarity acts like this, which we also remember, it does not cost us anything, it is to support each other. It is necessary."
