CEPES sponsors the recently constituted "Confederation of Social Economy Companies of Castilla-La Mancha"

The CEPES Board of Directors, held in Toledo, as the European city of the Social Economy in 2020, the last meeting of this year. In the closing ceremony, representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, of the Community Board of Castilla La Mancha, of the City of Toledo City Council, as well as the founding partners of "economiasocial.clm" entity that represents in the region has 1,000 companies and Social Economy entities, brings together more than 174,000 partners, employs more than 21,500 workers, of which 3,500 are people with disabilities, and brings together a turnover of more than 2,716 million euros.

• The CEPES Board of Directors, meeting in Toledo in person on the occasion of the commemorative events of the European Capital of the Social Economy during 2020, has received the new regional organization representing the Social Economy of Castilla-La Mancha "economiasocial.clm" .

• The meeting was attended by the Director of Self-Employed, Social Economy and CSR of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, Maravillas Espín; the general director of Work, Training and Occupational Safety of the Community Board of Castilla-La Mancha, Eduardo del Valle; and the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Francisco Rueda, as well as the founding partners of the new Confederation.

Toledo, December 17.- The Board of Directors of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES), held in Toledo, as the European city of the Social Economy in 2020, the last meeting of this year at the Palacio de Congresos de the city. In the closing ceremony of this meeting, the General Director of Self-Employed, Social Economy and CSR of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy , Maravillas Espín; the general director of Work, Training and Occupational Safety of the Community Board of Castilla-La Mancha , Eduardo del Valle; and the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Francisco Rueda; as well as the founding partners of the new Confederation of Associations of Social Economy Companies of Castilla-La Mancha recently established economiesocial.clm .

The CEPES Board of Directors welcomed and sponsored the new entity, which represents 1,000 companies and Social Economy entities in the region, brings together more than 174,000 partners, employs more than 21,500 workers, 3,500 of which are people with disabilities, and groups together a turnover of more than 2,716 million euros.

The new regional organization, economiesocial.clm , was born on November 25, with Juan Miguel del Real, director of the Castilla-La Mancha Agro-food Cooperatives elected as the first president; as vice president José Martínez, representing Grupo Social ONCE; as secretary Pedro Jesús Sáez, on behalf of FEACEM CLM and, as treasurer, Rafael López on behalf of ASEIRCAM, along with the other seven members of the representative organization of the regional social economy.

Juan Miguel del Real explained that the new regional organization, “economiesocial.clm”, was born with a triple objective: to represent and defend the companies of the social economy of the region, to serve as a channel to achieve the necessary institutional presence of the social economy in the tables of dialogue and social dialogue in our region and serve as a channel for the promotion before society of the values and general principles of the Social Economy that characterize these types of companies and, at the same time, differentiate them from other business formulas .

For his part, the President of CEPES, Juan Antonio Pedreño pointed out that “today is a day of celebration not only for Castilla-La Mancha, which from now on will count on economiesocial.clm, to make visible and give voice to an important business sector , but also for the Social Economy at the State level ”. Pedreño reached out to the new entity to continue strengthening the Social Economy and make it participate in the challenges of the future and considered it of great value thatThat this long-awaited constitution was produced within the framework of the Capital of Toledo as a European city of the Social Economy.

Maravillas Espín stressed the importance of the moment, describing it as "special and symbolic for the Social Economy and thanked the invitation to attend the" birth "of this new autonomous entity of the Social Economy." “Toledo means alliances and links between cultures, so the fact that economiasocial.clm has been able to be generated in Toledo, a city that will go down in the history of the Social Economy with the recent Declaration of Toledo approved by 18 governments of the European Union.

Eduardo Del Valle reported that “the constitution of economiasocial.clm implies opening a new, more powerful line of work for the regional government with this business model, which, although it had already been done, will now be jointly extended to all entities of the Social economy". He announced that the Community is working on the White Paper on the Social Economy of Castilla-La Mancha and on a new Social Economy Strategy for the Region that will be fully aligned with the Strategy at the State level and with the European Economic Action Plan Social.

Francisco Rueda thanked the Board of Directors for choosing Toledo to hold their meeting as this contributes to the visibility of the intense schedule of activities that have been taking place within the framework of the capital of Toledo as a European city of Social Economy ”.

economiesocial.clm is made up of six organizations of the Castilian-La Mancha social economy: Castilla-La Mancha Agro-food Cooperatives, Association of Special Employment Centers of Castilla-La Mancha Social Initiative (FEACEM CLM), the ONCE Social Group, the Union of Educational Cooperatives of Castilla-La Mancha (UCEC-M), Association of Insertion Companies of Castilla-La Mancha (ASEIRCAM) and associated work cooperatives through Cooperative Impulse.

In the coming weeks, other organizations of the social economy of the region that have applied to join will be admitted, with which these economic and social magnitudes will be highly exceeded, a clear expression of the importance that this type of companies has in the region as engine of economic recovery and social innovation.
