The Strategy approved today by the Council of Ministers is a continuation of the government's commitment to this business model, which represents 10% of GDP and 12.5% ​​of employment. CEPES has worked jointly with the Government of Spain so that the measures contained in the Strategy mean strong support for the improvement of Social Economy companies. Madrid, December 29, 2017.- The Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES) values ​​very positively that the Council of Ministers today approved the Spanish Social Economy Strategy 2017-2020.

The strategy contains 11 Axes and 63 Measures and, contemplates among others, the immediate start-up of the council of promotion of the Social Economy, only forum of direct interlocution of the sector with the Government, with Autonomous Communities and Ministries.

"The approval today of this relevant Strategy is of great importance for the Social Economy, since it implies giving continuity to the government's commitment not only to promote and develop it, but also so that, definitively, the Social Economy occupies a structural place in economic policies , as claimed by the EU; and not only be seen in a conjunctural way for its resilience demonstrated in times of crisis ", underlined the president of CEPES, Juan Antonio Pedreño .

"The Social Economy demonstrates that another economic model is possible, with socially and economically committed companies that create stable and quality work, which are equal and that give opportunity to people with disabilities and groups at risk of exclusion; but at the same time they are competitive in the market ", said Pedreño.

CEPES, as Spanish employer of the Social Economy, has worked with the Government of Spain with the aim of materializing this Strategy, which replaces and expands the Program for the Promotion and Promotion of the Social Economy 2016-2017 and also broadens and develops the.
