(Madrid, June 18, 2013). Next Thursday, June 20, Madrid will become the European Capital of Social Economy, thanks to the vast and diverse international participation will the closure of the XXI Assembly of the Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES)This event will be held in the Auditorium of the Eleven, located at 208 Paseo de la Habana.

The Assembly also will feature the 300 most important and prominent leaders of the Spanish Social Economy and CEPES partners, representative organization of this way of doing business in Spain and represents the interests of more than 43,000 companies, 2,350,000 jobs and 7.50% national GDP.

During the course of the event will value the work that social economy organizations are doing to promote this business model is positioned at the forefront of a new economic order, being an important solution and reference for a new social model.

The meeting wants to emphasize the commitment of the sector to employment and people, this commitment is found in the statistics. In 2012, were created as part of the Social Economy, more than 2,000 companies and nearly 20,000 jobs. Noting that five years ago, in the toughest years of the crisis, the Spanish Social Economy as a whole created 150,000 new jobs and 20,000 new businesses.

Additionally you will have the opportunity to show the role of the social economy in the economic and social development in the EU and in the Member States by publicizing the agenda of the European institutions to promote the Social Economy in the European Union, especially for the new political period that opens withEuropean Elections 2014.

Reference will identify measures to promote the development of a strategy for the promotion of the social economy in Europe and the role that Spain can play in this strategy.
