LARES, the Federation of Residences and Services of the Solidarity Sector, is the union of a wide variety of non-profit providers of social and health services for the elderly. It was founded in 1996 in response to the need to coordinate solidarity initiatives in the sector.and to develop the value of respect for the dignity of the elderly and the humanization and quality in the provision of services.

LARES, as a national business organization, is comprised of a total of seventeen associations from each Autonomous Community, representing more than 800 residences and services, generating employment for approximately 35,000 professionals dedicated to caring for some 54,000 elderly or dependent people.

These. It also defends the interests of its members before judicial bodies in collective dispute proceedings and in the challenge of collective agreements.

 

Likewise, it represents and defends the interests of its members before public administrations and the various legislative branches.

 

LARES represents its members in the negotiation with the unions of sectoral collective agreements, together with the other employers' organizations of the sector, as well as in the subsequent parity interpretation of

The Federation organizes conferences, meetings, and training and experience-sharing opportunities, and participates in national and European projects of common interest to its members.

It is part of the European employers' confederation SOCIAL EMPLOYERS.

In addition, LARES serves its members by raising public and private grants, providing legal advisory services, continuing education programs for workers, and negotiating collective agreements with suppliers of goods and services.
