In addition to CEPES, representatives of the main autonomous work organizations (ATA, UATAE and UPTA), CSR entities, unions (CCOO, UGT) and other business organizations (CEOE and CEPYME) participated.

The Minister announced that the Ministry will immediately begin to work on three key State Strategies for the "reconstruction of the country": the Social Economy with a time horizon of 2027, the Self-Employed Work Strategy and the Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy. In addition, the Consultative Councils for the Promotion of the Social Economy, the Self-Employed and the CSR will be launched to adapt them to the current reality.

The president of CEPES, Juan Antonio Pedreño, appreciated this meeting and showed the commitment of the Social Economy in the roadmap announced by Minister Díaz, and the general director of Autonomous Work, Social Economy and Social Responsibility of Companies, Maravillas Espín .

As an employer of the Social Economy, Pedreño pointed out that CEPES will actively participate in the Spanish Strategy of the Social Economy and will also contribute to the other two Strategies since of the 2.5 million jobs in the Social Economy, about one million are self-employed ”and because "our business model is not that it is part of CSR, but that the Social Economy is CSR made into a company". Pedreño highlighted the importance of the Advisory Councils announced, which are key to advising the Government and contributing to reconstruction.

The President of CEPES pointed out the importance and need for the Social Economy Strategy to have a more ambitious budget allocation than the current one to achieve its full effectiveness.

Pedreño announced that "from the Social Economy, we want to rebuild the country, but rebuild it better and, therefore, we are committed to inclusive, sustainable growth and that we plan to put people at the center ."

"Very competitive companies, with a social vocation and with a strong presence in the territory"

Pedreño stated that "in the long term, the Social Economy companies will play a very important role." In this sense, he explained that "we have important , very competitive companies , but also the most social ones " with a strong social and industrial impact in the territory. "

The president of CEPES indicated the unquestionable role of the Social Economy in depopulated Spain ”. "The Social Economy", he added, "is the fundamental business instrument to rebuild, fix the population and ensure that these peoples are not abandoned. Cooperatives and labor companies are companies that do not relocate and that remain in the territory with a very important level of resilience ”.

Pedreño also highlighted "the importance of companies not closing, and those that close can be transformed into Social Economy companies." For this reason, he announced that CEPES works with the ministries of Justice, and of Labor and Social Economy "to be able to enable mechanisms so that companies doomed to closure can be recovered by their own workers . It is a powerful measure that saves Companies and Jobs.

The president of CEPES also supported the need to extend ERTEs and Cessations of Activity in the sectors most affected by the pandemic , as well as to reactivate the ICO Lines . He also expressed concern about the youth unemployment rate that Spain suffers, 48% compared to 19% which is the European average. That is why CEPES and the Social Economy are working on adapting Training for Employment to the new needs of the labor market with innovative solutions and with the aim that young people can join the labor market.

Lastly, Pedreño advocated the importance of working in coordination with the Autonomous Communities in matters of Social Economy, in order not only to work in the same direction, but to generate synergies that promote the Social Economy throughout the country .
