COCETA is the representative organization of the

associated work cooperatives in Spain.

 

We are an entity with 35 years of experience that associates all the Federations / Unions and Associations of existing regional associated work cooperatives, currently those corresponding to: Andalusia, Asturias, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y León, Cataluña, Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia, Balearic Islands, Madrid, Murcia, Navarra and the Basque Country.

At COCETA we value the principles that characterize the cooperative business model WITH THE PERSON AS THE CENTRAL AXIS OF BUSINESS ACTION.

Our MISSION is to promote socially responsible, competitive cooperatives, where the values of equality, democracy, self-management and solidarity are the basis of their operation, contributing to the creation of quality employment, social cohesion, the elimination of inequalities and sustainable development. .

Together with local organizations, we actively work to promote COOPERATIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP and the creation of JOBS and to strengthen and consolidate ALREADY EXISTING COOPERATIVES and their JOBS.

Our MISSION and OBJECTIVES are directed to:

1. Represent and defend the interests of the Associated Work Cooperatives through legislative initiatives and relations with other institutions. Institutional lobby.

2. Development and Organizational Promotion. Supporting and consolidating the representative structures of cooperative work and promoting joint work and projects. Internal Cohesion

3. Training and Employment. Through the planning and implementation of training plans and programs to stimulate employment. undertake collectively.

4. Visibility and diffusion. We carry out different actions and projects aimed at showing society what worker cooperatives are, their role as companies and how they act on a daily basis. Visibility of the cooperative work company.

Project development. We design, coordinate and execute, on an ongoing basis, state and European projects, with leading cooperative and social economy entities in the countries.íses of the EU, with the aim of promoting the work cooperative as a model of entrepreneurship and job creation, stable, equitable and supportive. We promote intercooperation

Worker Cooperatives in Spain are present in all productive sectors, with a more prominent presence in the SERVICES sector (especially in business, personal care or socio-health, assistance and education), in manufacturing, commerce and hospitality. 

 

We are the only Spanish cooperative organization that has a direct presence in European and international cooperative entities:

• ACI- International Cooperative Alliance.

• CICOPA, International Confederation of Production, Craft and Service Cooperatives, in which it currently holds its presidency.

• European Cooperatives.

• CECOP, European Confederation of Worker Cooperatives, Social Cooperatives and Participated Companies, where it occupies the vice presidency and a gender member.

 

At the state level, we belong to:

• Business Confederation of the Social Economy- CEPES.

• CIRIEC- Spain.

• School of Cooperative Studies

 

We are also part of:

• Economic and Social Council of Spain, CES Spain.

• Council for the Promotion of the Social Economy of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
